From shower to success on TV



The Shower is one of the latest brand new formats related to music and singing in the global tv market. Created in 2014 by Secuoya Content Distribution, it event attended the MIPTV as a fresh content format. In my view, it is the perfect solution to the boredom that this kind of programs are currently transmitting. Same content, but different mechanic. It means a turnaround against the more traditional programs of this genre. 

The contestants participating in “The Shower” have to sing a song while standing under a shower placed in the middle of the stage, as if having a shower in the privacy of their own homes. After that, they will or will not be selected to take part in the contest. Here you can find the trailer

“We believe that talent shows as a format offer many possibilities and still has a long life ahead of it on TV. All we needed was a refreshing twist, and that is what we have given this talent show, by just adding water of course,” says Sergio Lizarraga, the R+D Manager at Grupo Secuoya. It does not come as a surprise that this new show has raised a lot of interest in countries such as France, China and Italy. 

However, we must say this is just a craft. No tv channel has shown interest for this product so far, and it doesn't seem none will do. We'll have to still wait until it sees the light.
